Developmental Assessment

Description: Programs that provide a comprehensive, structured evaluation of a child’s cognitive/intellectual functioning, language and communication skills, independent living skills, social and emotional development and perceptual/motor functioning in order to identify individuals who show developmental delays, determine the nature and extent of the problem and recommend a course of treatment and care. (AIRS LF-7000.1700)

Eligibility: In order to enroll, the individual being supported must have a diagnosed or significant problem behaviors that, if continued, would put the individual at risk for being diagnosed with a disability.Workshops are open to anyone who supports individuals with disabilities and challenging behavior.
Services Provided: Develops and implements support plans for people with disabilities and challenging behavior that include functional assessment and function-based intervention. Provides trainings, technical support and consultation services to families, agencies, and schools. Services build capacity in family members, professionals, and care providers supporting individuals with challenging behavior. All services are individualized to meet the unique needs of those requesting support.
