Autism Resources

The Specialized Needs Unit delivers an array of services to youth with an acute mental health diagnosis who are diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum or have a developmental, intellectual, congenital, or acquired disorder. The program is appropriate for individuals age 8 to 17 who present the following:<br />*A wide variety of psychiatric disorders<br />*An appropriate diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum and/or Intellectual Disorders<br />*Intellectual limitations resulting in psychological and/or behavioral impairment<br />*Potential danger to self and/or others<br />*Impaired functioning attributable to the disorder, which is of sufficient intensity to interfere substantially with ordinary demands of the environment, including social, familial, educational, or occupational functioning self-care.<br />*Ambulatory and, if applicable, any existing medical condition is stabilized. (Note: The same, standard Ambulation and medical criteria that applies to a free-standing behavioral health hospital also applies to the SNU).

Serves ages 2-26 years. Insurances accepted: NV Medicaid FFS, NV Medicaid Anthem, NV Medicaid HPN, United Healthcare, Cigna, Anthem BCBS, Sierra Healthcare Options, Sierra Health & Life. Can also establish Single Case Agreements with insurances not listed, as appropriate.

Provides individual and group therapy options. Provides Trauma-Informed Applied Behavior Analysis for Autism ADHD, FASD, and related neuro developmental conditions.

Clinical autism or fetal alcohol spectrum disorders diagnosis report.

Provides in home Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to children and young adults. Utilizes the techniques of ABA to customize a service program for you, your child, and your lifestyle.

Behavioral services and therapy for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disability and Developmental Disabilities or Behavioral Problems. In-person and telehealth options available.<br />(In-person services up to 50 miles radius. Reno, Sparks, Carson City. Virtual Telehealth Northern Nevada).<br />

Provides autism treatment services to children and adolescents, following the principles of applied behavior analysis. Providers located throughout the US.

Does not offer diagnostic services.

• Child has an autism diagnosis or completed an evaluation from a qualified medical professional.
• Currently supporting families with Medicaid and other select providers.‍
• Parents who have the ability to work at least 10 hours per week with their child.
• Pass a background check
• High school diploma

Provides a free 40-hour training course to parents to become a Behavior Technician (BT) and become their child's own ABA provider.
