Information, education, training, outreach, and peer support to families of children and youth with special health care needs and the professionals who serve them.

Training: General ADA training on all Titles of the ADA of 1990. Awareness regarding issues affecting people with disabilities. Completing an ADA Self-Evaluation or transition plan. Providing reasonable accommodations in the workplace.
Technical Assistance: Provides information and materials regarding guidelines and best practices. Guidance to people with disabilities regarding rights. Guidance to public and private sectors regarding responsibilities.
On-Site compliance reviews: Provides in-depth site assessments for compliance with current standards for buildings and facilities. Provides assistance for determining access to programs and services. Assists employees and employers regarding reasonable accommodation in the workplace.
Construction Document Plan Review: Reviews plans for accessibility compliance in all phases of the construction process to ensure facilities are accessible and usable by people with disabilities.
Web Accessibility: The Web is an increasingly important resource in many aspects of life: education, employment, government, commerce, health care, recreation, and more. It is essential that the Web be accessible in order to provide equal access and equal opportunity to people with disabilities.

Young adult with intellectual disabilities.

Inclusive, two-year, non-degree certificate program offering a college experience to students with intellectual disabilities. Structured with academic and campus activities with the goal of independence and employment.

In order to enroll, the individual being supported must have a diagnosed or significant problem behaviors that, if continued, would put the individual at risk for being diagnosed with a disability.Workshops are open to anyone who supports individuals with disabilities and challenging behavior.

PBS-NV is a statewide project (trainers are based out of Elko, Las Vegas, and Reno). We provide trainings and individual consultation to families with children with disabilities and challenging behavior. We have a variety of topics including Building Cooperative Behavior, Potty Training, Picky Eating, Routines/Transitions, Sleep Hygiene, and Addressing Challenging Behavior. While these team trainings are targeted at families, teachers and other community professionals are welcome to attend in support of the child. PBS-NV also provides the opportunity for families to have individual consultations with a Behavior Analyst following each workshop to better serve participants and improve quality of life for the family.

Provides siblings of individuals with disabilities the information, support, and tools to advocate with their brothers and sisters and to promote the issues important to them and their entire families.

Parents/families residing in Elko, Lander, Pershing, or Humboldt counties.

Workshops for parents/families to learn strategies to help improve relationships with their children and to learn strategies to build more cooperation in the home and to reduce innapropriate child behaviors. Each workshop consists of 4 class sessions, and all parents/families can access a one on one consultation.

Kids or adults with developmental disabilities, age 8 and older. Must be able to walk without assistive device and sidestep from side to side, have at least a 20" inseam and weigh less than 220 pounds.

Northern Nevada camp will be held in Reno from June 17th-21th at the Reno Sparks Convention Center.<br />Southern Nevada bike camp will be held in Las Vegas March 11th-15th.<br />Participants choose one of five 75-minute sessions to attend all five days of camp. There is a fee of $199 for Nevada residents and $299 non-residents to attend the camp. Riders learn to balance, pedal, steer and take off on their own. Camp has an 80% success rate for teaching kids and adults with disabilities to ride a bike in 5 days. For more information contact Diana Rovetti at rovetti@unr.edu.
