CASA volunteers are trained to advocate for abused and neglected children. Serving as a court appointed advocate for the child will prevent the child from getting lost in the system by being sensitive to the child’s needs and presenting these needs to the Court.

Pioneer Territory CASA Inc. changed their name on March 13, 2023 to Advocates for Children of Rural Nevada (ACORN).  We are still court appointed advocates for foster children in the 5th Judicial District of Nye and Esmeralda Counties in Nevada.

Provides siblings of individuals with disabilities the information, support, and tools to advocate with their brothers and sisters and to promote the issues important to them and their entire families.

Community advocates are available 24/7/365 for crisis intervention, assistance for victims of crime ranging from crisis medical care, protection orders, court accompaniment, safety plans and kits, financial aid assistance, resources and referrals. AVA offers a variety of programs and services, including the Family Advocacy Program.
AVA offers 24/7 help, free and confidential. Trained community advocates are available to help survivors and secondary survivors through this trauma.

AVA provides a free, monthly support group to women ages 18 and over that have been traumatized by sexual violence, family abuse, stalking, or any other personal victimization, Survivors Overcoming and Recovering (SOAR).

AVA advocates provide assistance and referrals and resources that may be able to assist medically, financially, and legally.

The Family Advocacy Program duties will vary and include, but are not limited to, supervised visitation, home visits, safety management services, parenting classes, collecting clothing, toys, household items, etc. donations needed by foster and kinship families, office assistance, and assisting in raising awareness and outreach about foster parenting and child abuse and neglect.

We provide supervised visitations with flexible hours in the evenings and weekends.

AVA provides a free program, Girls Fight Back! and free self-defense classes for women and youths, as well as information on bullying and cyber bullying.

A national family-run organization focused on the issues of children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs and substance use challenges and their families.

Provides national certification for a family/parent peer workforce, known as Certified Family Peer Specialists™, to provide support to other families who have children with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges.

Provides educational and informational resources for families, service providers, caseworkers and tribal leaders related to the welfare of Native American and Alaska Native children. This includes information about child abuse, adoption and foster care, policy, and advocacy.

Focuses on meeting the needs of professionals engaged in all aspects of services for maltreated children and their families.

As a proud division of the National Federation of the Blind, they are a national membership and advocacy organization of families and friends of blind children. They help families and blind children themselves maximize the child’s skills, independence, and opportunities, and we hold high expectations for all of our children. The NOPBC is well informed about the societal, legislative, and technological issues that affect blind people.
