High school seniors for the current year attending school in northern Nevada.

Program encourages students to continue their education by providing renewable scholarships to northern Nevada high school seniors.

Families with children 12 and under. Nevada residents.

Provides tax advantaged ways to save for college. All plans have special Nevada benefits such as no annual cost and matching grant options.

Children newborn to 9th grade.

Lock in instate college tuition rates for future use. Can be used in state or applying money benefits out of state at higher education institutions.

Current or aged out Nevada foster youth or Nevada foster youth adopted at age 16 and older.

Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Serves as a resource center on hearing loss and spoken language approaches and related issues. Promotes opportunities and rights of individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing to learn to use, maintain, and improve all aspects of their verbal communication, including their abilities to use residual hearing and process both spoken and written language. Offers scholarship/ financial award opportunities, membership, information, and publications.

Children with life-threatening diseases and life-altering conditions

Provides long term care and a better quality of life for children with cancer and children in need, their families and communities, through financial assistance, education, medical support, therapeutic play and outreach care programs.

Services Include:

• Financial support: Emergency, Basic Living, Life Enhancing & Life Saving expenses included.

People of short stature and their families; a diagnosis of dwarfism or form of short stature.

Provides support and information to people of short stature and their families.

Services Include:

• Peer, parent, and medical support at the chapter, regional and national level
• Discounted rates at the National conference; advocacy
• College scholarships and support
• Adoption and conference attendance grants
• Friendship and connections
• Referrals to medical care by dwarfism specialists

Students (grades K-12)

Provides educational scholarships to children from ages 5-18 to assist with tuition for school from Kindergarten to 12th grade.

Connects individuals and families affected by cleft lip/palate and other craniofacial to team care, providing education, and offerings personal support. Awards College scholarships, research grants, and silent auction. Provides patient/family Connections Conferences and 24 hour Cleftline.

Scholarships for undergraduate students. Workshops for students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade coming from families with income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Focus on Native American youth, but will accept any race or nationality that meets income guideline.

Provides scholarships for Native American undergraduate students. Also, provide workshops and seminars, leadership training, youth outreach programs, community development, farming and gardening projects.

Adults with Down syndrome

Provides college scholarships for students with Down syndrome, spreading awareness of their capabilities, and supporting their dreams of higher education and independence.

Those who are blind or visually impaired, their families, friends, doctors, caregivers, and anyone who works with blind or visually impaired people

Non-medical information on blindness, and referrals to various sources of help, state services for the blind, and state libraries for the blind.

Resources: Offers a variety of resources, including Job Connection, Blind/Low Vision resources, peer support, and more

Scholarships: Scholarships for freshman, undergraduate, and graduate students. To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants need to be legally blind, maintain a 3.0 GPA to be eligible for most scholarships, be a full-time student (as well as students who work 32 or more hours per week and attend college part time), and be involved in their school/local community.
