Biosketch:

Dr. Uchida graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his Pediatric and Pediatric Pulmonology training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

He joined the faculty at Denver Children’s Hospital and the University of Colorado Department of Pediatrics in 1988 and joined the faculty at National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado in 1989. There, he pursued research on the role of eosinophils in asthma pathogenesis. He then joined the University of South Alabama to become the Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology. Dr. Uchida has been a faculty member of the University of Utah School of Medicine since 1995.

Dr. Uchida's primary interests are the pathogenesis, epidemiology, and treatment of childhood asthma. He is the medical director for the Children’s Asthma Specialty Clinic at Primary Children's Hospital, the regional referral clinic for difficult-to-control asthmatics. He provides consultative services to several local and regional committees on asthma management.
