Biosketch:

Mary Steinmann, MD, Associate Professor (Clinical), is triple board certified in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She practices clinically as an inpatient child and adolescent psychiatrist at the University's Huntsman Mental Health Institute. Clinically, Dr. Steinmann has a special interest in children and families struggling with chronic comorbid medical and mental illness, and the impact of chronic illness on sibling relationships and family dynamics. Academically, she has a strong passion for mentorship and medical education, particularly using technology in psychiatric education. Dr. Steinmann serves as course director for Foundations of Medicine and Brain and Behavior at the University of Utah School of Medicine and teaches psychiatry at the University of Utah Physician Assistant Program. She has received multiple teaching awards locally and nationally. Additionally, she has a passion for medical education and mentorship of future physicians. She serves as course director for Foundations of Medicine and Brain and Behavior at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She has received multiple local and national teaching awards.
