Biosketch:

Dr. Cunningham currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics, at the University of Utah School of Medicine. In his clinical work, he sees patients at the University Developmental Assessment Clinics for ongoing care of behavioral and psychiatric conditions. In his research, Dr. Cunningham works on grants within several agencies of the National Institutes of Health, which primarily examine the neurodevelopmental outcomes of children. Dr. Cunningham is an advocate for the improvement of children and caregiver mental health within the community and hospital settings. He currently serves as Co-PI on a project examining Parental Mental Health in caregivers of children with congenital heart disease, with funding support from Intermountain Healing Hearts. Additionally, he has a recently submitted manuscript on anxiety in children with congenital heart disease to help guide standards of care in the early screening and detection of anxiety in children with congenital heart disease. Dr. Cunningham stays passionate about, and aims to impact, heathier outcomes of the mental health needs in the pediatric population and their families across all medical conditions. Dr. Cunningham’s work has resulted in national and international presentations and publications.
